itβs me, hi. hope youβve been well. iβve been simultaneously very busy settling into a new job and very unwell watching the horrors of the world unfold. a combination which, if you can believe it, has not put me in a shopping kind of mood!
somehow i have embarrassingly persisted and compiled some gifts you should get for this season, or next, or maybe never!
For the Hostess
Search for βvintage cocktail stirrersβ and go. to. town. Open so many tabs that your computer gets hotter than your apartment and the fan becomes louder than the neighbors!! My faves are this one, this one, this one and this one.
For the People You Host
You canβt just host, you gotta give. Kidding, hosting is enough, I just love any excuse to buy old shit.
There isnβt really one matchbook lot Iβd recommend, just type βvintage matchbook lotβ into Etsy and see what you get. Some promising ones are these, these, these and these. Do NOT give these to arsonist though β they will NOT appreciate the vintage charm.
For a White Elephant
You canβt go wrong with a salt and pepper shaker set. Itβs not something people buy themselves (theyβre nearly useless, letβs be honest) but surely thereβs going to be SOMEONE who loves it. There are sets to fit any price range.
For Secret Santa
The ultimate gifting hack is to type βVintage [YOUR FRIENDβS HOMETOWN]β into Etsy and browse til you find the perfect thing. Donβt browse too long because you will become overwhelmed by the sheer amount of STUFF there is in the world.
For Your Signif Other (Who Is Also the Family Bartender)
The best vintage finds of the year for me were a few vintage cocktails books. They can get pricey so I wouldnβt gift these to a regular-tier pal, but theyβre perfect as a sweet gift for an S.O. Throw in a bottle of something (do not ask me what β all alcohol tastes the same.) and that would be a very good gift.
I love this one, this one, this one, and this one.
Pictured above, also the cheapest one I linked: $85 (And here again for $125 β Wow... I really love that one. OK nobody buy it. Iβm asking Santa for it.)
A Few Things For Fun
Merry Kitchmas!!!!!!! $28.28
A cottagecore Christmas! $42.99
A match striker. $120 β I got one of these for $20 in my town. Maybe try to thrift. Itβs very cute thoughβ¦
A bunch of glass olives. $21.60 β I donβt understand these, but I know that I need them.
Well, there ya have it, all of my gifting secrets. Iβll be back next week for a regular issue β promise <3
